Hello, I’m Sara, and I’d like to share the story of how Cut the Mustard came to life. It all began in the early 2000s when I embarked on my teaching career as a freelancer. Over the years, I had the privilege of working in diverse environments—from the industrial halls of the Navigator paper mill to the innovative floors of Volkswagen Autoeuropa, and even alongside the creative team at Pioneer, among others.

By 2012, I found myself in Ireland, where online teaching became a powerful way to connect with students around the world. But as life tends to do, it eventually brought me back to Portugal in 2019, where Cut the Mustard was born. What started as an online project quickly evolved into an in-person language school in Setúbal.

Cut the Mustard is more than just a language project. It’s the result of years of experience, passion, and dedication, all crafted into something truly special. We’re not just about textbooks and grammar drills; we’re here to offer an experience—one that blends learning with fun and cultural immersion. Our vibrant studio hosts workshops designed to create lasting memories, alongside our engaging European Portuguese lessons and cultural events.

Now, five years later, Cut the Mustard has grown into a thriving business, offering both online and in-person classes that are anything but typical. Join us as we transform language learning into a dynamic, enriching journey, and help you embrace Portuguese in a whole new way.
